We do not start with the TripAdvisor top 10 or the Instagram must-see lists. We start with a simple yet meaningful question: What journey could change your life?

Then we build around the answer — the setting, the people, the roads, the conversations, and the surprises that can't be planned in.

The pact

You are our guest. Trust us to lead.

Every journey can be privately booked by a group. You will be our guests, and we will take that responsibility seriously. We will listen to what matters, understand the boundaries, and look after the details.

But being our guest does not mean controlling the experience. The best journeys happen when my team and I have the freedom to create — and when you are willing to surrender a little control and trust us.

Most tours are built to placate people and satisfy a list of expectations. To me, that defeats the purpose of travel. Travel should open your eyes. It should surprise and delight you. It should show you something you could not have known to ask for.

Why I do this

I’m not trying to build another tour company.

The trips have to sustain themselves. But money is not the point, and getting rich is not the ambition.

Travel gave me some of the most important experiences of my life. I do this because I feel a responsibility to share that gift — to create the conditions for someone else to have an experience that changes how they see the world, and what they believe is possible.

I’m not doing this to take people on tours. I’m doing this to change people’s lives.

The honest question

Can you design your own transformation from the state of mind you’re in now?

Probably not. So tell us who you are, and what matters to you. Then leave the rest to us. Our standard is not to meet the expectations you arrived with. It is to surpass them in ways you could not have planned.

The origin

A one-way decision changed everything

The Ride of Passage began with a desire to share my personal transformation through travel and motorcycles.

When I was 25, I bought a plane ticket from New York City to Thailand. Through that decision I discovered motorcycles and tasted a freedom I had never known.

I rode Thailand North to South. I rode the USA East to West.

What I discovered off the motorcycle during those years changed me just as much — from online business to Bitcoin to faith. Those years showed me new ways of living, beyond weekdays in the office and weekends of binge drinking.

So my team started experimenting: could they package up the transformation that traveling by motorcycle delivered, and offer it to others? The Ride of Passage was born.

The Ride of Passage also satisfies my childhood dream: to travel the world creating epic moments with awesome people.

Even if my face sometimes says otherwise.

The Ride of Passage started from the journey of understanding money and its influence on society. Our team created “What is Money” to distill our understanding of that question — it still serves as a great resource to learn about money, finance, and Bitcoin.
